This monthly update keeps you in tune with all of the events, activities and happenings in the Bloomingdale Park District. Our mission is to efficiently and economically provide recreation programs, facilities and open space designed to provide enjoyable leisure time experiences that benefit the community.

Statewide Kite Fly & Touch-A-Truck

Contests, raffles, kite decorating, concessions and a mass kite launch highlight the annual Statewide Kite Fly and Touch-A-Truck events occurring simultaneously 10 a.m. to noon, May 12 at Springfield Park.

The first 100 children (ages 12 and younger) to pre-register receive a T-shirt the day of the event. Admission is free; however, some attractions and refreshments require a fee.

Register in person at the JRC or online here. Kite Fly/Touch-A-Truck is located under Special Events on the registration site.

Summer Camp

The Bloomingdale Park District offers endless opportunities for your child to have a fun and memorable camp experience. Our day camp program is designed to spark your childâ€™s imagination, grow new friendships, and assist them in discovering new talents each and every day.

With creatively-planned activities, campers enjoy summer to the fullest extent and look forward to returning year after year. Access summer camp registration forms here.

News & Notes

Oasis Season Passes -The last day to purchase The Oasis Water Park season passes at a discount is May 31. Season passholders enjoy early daily admission, the option to purchase a VIP Pass, two free one-day guest passes, discounted Oasis programs, private rentals and parties, free admission to many Oasis special events and Passholder Only Appreciation Night.

BPD Museum - View a wide variety of work by the Bloomingdale Artists Association and the fotoMuses May 12 through June 23 at the Bloomingdale Park District Museum. A complimentary reception for both galleries is 2-4 p.m., May 20.

DuPage River Sweep - The annual DuPage County River Sweep is 9 a.m. to noon, May 19. The sweep is a county-wide, self-coordinated stream cleanup to clean the local waterways and restore nearby land back to its natural state. Contact Ed Reidy at (630) 529-3650 to volunteer.

Friday Night Fun! - Need a break from the kids? The Park District offers Middle School Open Gym Night and Klub Friday Night Jr. Late Nite May 11.
