This monthly update keeps you in tune with all of the events, activities and happenings in the Bloomingdale Park District. Our mission is to efficiently and economically provide recreation programs, facilities and open space designed to provide enjoyable leisure time experiences that benefit the community.
Bunny Bash
Hop on over to Bloomingdale's most bumpin' time at the Annual Bunny Bash and Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt held March 23, 2013.
The egg hunt starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. in Circle Park, 163 Fairfield Way. The Bunny Bash follows shortly thereafter, running 9:45 a.m. to noon, at the adjacent Johnston Recreation Center, 172 S. Circle Ave.
Both events are FREE! The egg hunt is sponsored by the Lions Club with candy donated by Meijer, and the Bunny Bash is sponsored by Salerno's Rosedale Chapels and Associated Dental Care.
Spring Break options
The Bloomingdale Park District offers a variety of options for children in preschool through sixth grade who are off of school March 25-29.
The District's Busy Bees program is for ages 3 years through kindergarten, while School's Out! is for grades first through sixth. Both programs offer a variety of structured and relaxed activities for to enjoy such as games, sports, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor playtime, cooking, trips, special events and more. A variety of time options are available, including extended early morning and evening hours.
The JRC is host to a spring break basketball camp, running 9 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 4 p.m., March 25-29. Players improve on a variety of skills. More...
The DuPage Training Academy offers a spring break baseball camp 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., March 25-29. More...
Mom & Son BlackTie Gala
Spend a captivating evening with your son and dance the night away at the prestigious Black Tie Gala 7 to 9 p.m., April 5 at the Bloomingdale Golf Club.
Couples have a memorable evening together dancing to the music of the DJ and enjoying an elegant dinner of chicken, beef, pasta, salad, vegetables and dessert. Each couple receives a photo to take home. Registration deadline is March 29, 2013.

March Madness Basketball Tournament - Team up with friends and showcase your skills at this 3-on-3 basketball tournament March 16-17 at the JRC. All players receive a T-shirt. Contact Chris Tompkins to register.
Summer Camps - The Bloomingdale Park District offers endless opportunities for your child to have a fun and memorable camp experience. Our summer day camp program is designed to spark your child’s imagination, grow new friendships, and assist them in discovering new talents each and every day. With creatively-planned activities, campers enjoy summer to the fullest extent and look forward to returning year after year.
Student Art Show - Students from local grade schools and high schools display their talents for not only mom, dad and grandparents, but the entire community at the 30th Annual Student Art Show, opening March 9 and running through April 13 at the Bloomingdale Park District Museum.
FREE! Fitness Classes - Improve your strength, endurance, flexibility and awarenes of mind and body by trying one of two free yoga classes offered in March. A free hot yoga class is offered 7:15 to 8:30 p.m., March 18; and a free vinyasa yoga class is offered 7:15 to 8:30 p.m., March 20. Additionally, a large number of fitness classes begin in March. Teens & Tweens -Trips to Nickel City, Lincoln Park Zoo, Hollywood Park and the St. Charles Park District Teen Center all occur in March. View the program descriptions online and sign up here.
