Contests, raffles, concessions and a mass kite launch highlight the annual Statewide Kite Fly and Touch-A-Truck events scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, May 18 at Springfield Park.
Admission is FREE; however, some attractions and refreshments may require a fee.
Sponsored by the Illinois Association of Park Districts, the kite fly raises awareness of the Park District Youth License Plate Flying 4 Kids program. Sales of Flying 4 Kids license plates go to park districts and recreation agencies to provide innovative, after-school programming for Illinois youth.
Touch-A-Truck features a variety of trucks and vehicles to climb, sit and play on. Parental supervision is required.
